As I was coming out of my deep depression from having a stroke, I began to recite positive affirmations out loud and to myself. I posted these positive affirmations on my mirror so as I woke up in the morning, I would be reminded of the power that dwells within. I recited the positive affirmations in the morning at night and in between the day when I looked at my mirror. I had to be reminded of who I am. I had to remind myself of the power that dwells within me. No one could do that for me. I had to do that for myself. The depression had me feeling so alone I felt that nobody cared about me and that everyone I knew turned their backs on me when I needed them the most. I had to encourage myself. I had to be grateful for those who did not desert me. I had to think beyond my circumstances. That was when I rose out of my depression. That was when my phoenix began to rise.
“ I Am healthy, I Am wealthy, I Am wise, I Am rich beyond measure, I Am powerful, I am beautiful, I am loving, I am alive, I am happy, I am resilient, I am strong, I am peaceful, I am joyful, I am beautiful, I can walk, I can talk fluently , I can move, my right arm & leg, I can move my fingers and toes, I can sing, I can write, and my brain is strong!”
